The One-Design Series began on time Friday under beautiful skies and strong winds. By the time the first race was underway, the yachts were sailing in 15 knots of fresh breeze. The very satisfying day ended early with all yachts heading back to the harbor, the Regatta skippers meeting, and the Irish party.

On Saturday the fleet contended with rain showers and thunder while the postponement flag was up. After only a short delay, the last of the storm cells passed, the skies opened up, and racing under 20+ knots of breeze began. Some boats reported winds up to 31 kts. Several chutes were lost during the day. Needless to say, it was an exciting day of racing!

We awoke Sunday to continued winds and mostly clear skies. The winds stayed their course to provide us with one of the best possible days on the Little Traverse Bay. Races went off on schedule with 15-20+ knot westerlies that held throughout the day. It was certainly a day that will be remembered fondly by all competitors.
