The One-Design Series began on time Friday under clearing skies and fair winds. By the time the first race was underway, the yachts were sailing in 10 knots of fresh breeze. The very satisfying day ended early with all yachts heading back to the harbor and the 'Friends of Dave' party.

On Saturday winds were light to non-existent as the scheduled starting time approached. After nearly 2 1/2 hours of postponement, the first 5 classes were able to start and complete a vastly shortened course. The fleet enjoyed swimming and entertained each other during the long, hot, wait for wind.

We awoke Sunday to heavy winds and big seas. The skies cleared early and the winds stayed their course to provide us with one of the best possible days on the Little Traverse Bay. 15-20+ knot westerlies held throughout the day and the race will be remembered fondly by all competitors.
